Niger Partners Visit LEADRAY Factory Discuss Solar Street Lights for Rural & Highway Projects

2026-10-23

Recently, our partners from Niger came to visit the LEADRAY factory and showroom. They are local contractors in charge of rural road and town lighting projects across Niger. They traveled a long way to our base, hoping to find reliable solar lighting solutions that fit the tough local environment.

During the factory tour, we walked together through our production workshop, finished goods testing area and solar light exhibition zone. Our team demonstrated all our mainstream solar street lights, split solar lamps, integrated solar lights, and solar flood lights one by one. The clients carefully checked the solar panel structure, lithium battery packaging, LED light source, controller and housing material by themselves. They asked many practical questions based on the real situation they meet in Niger.

The main challenges they brought up

Niger has very special climate and site conditions, which are totally different from many other regions.

  1. Extreme high temperature and strong sunlight. Daytime temperatures often rise above 45°C. They worried that batteries inside the lamps will degrade quickly under long-time high-temperature exposure, shortening the whole service life of solar lights.
  2. Heavy dust and sand. Dry seasons bring frequent sand dust. Dust covers the solar panel surface easily, reducing power generation efficiency greatly. Sand may also wear lamp shell and damage internal components.
  3. Weak local maintenance capacity. Many project sites are located in remote villages far from cities. Professional technicians are hard to reach. If the lamp breaks down, repair and replacement will cost much time and extra money. They need products simple to maintain.
  4. Unstable local power grid. Most rural areas have limited or no grid power, which means solar lights must work steadily only relying on solar energy, especially during long cloudy or rainy days. They required longer backup working hours.

How we solved these concerns face-to-face

We did not just talk about parameters on paper. We showed our real test samples and explained our targeted design for hot, dusty African markets.

  • For high temperature: We introduced our high-temperature resistant lithium battery packs and heat dissipation structure for LED modules. The internal thermal design allows our solar lights to keep stable operation under continuous high ambient temperature.
  • For dust & sand: We showed the thick aluminum alloy lamp housing with high IP66 waterproof & dustproof rating. The tilted design of solar panels helps reduce dust accumulation naturally, lowering the frequency of manual cleaning.
  • For easy maintenance: Our modular design was the key point. The solar panel, battery, LED light head and controller are separate modules. When parts fail, workers only replace the broken module instead of changing the whole lamp. It saves spare part cost and makes field repair much easier for their local team.
  • For long backup time: We customized battery capacity options for them. We can configure larger-capacity batteries to guarantee continuous lighting for several rainy/cloudy days, fully matching the demand of remote villages.

We ran live lighting tests in the showroom together. The clients checked brightness output, tested controller functions and recorded all technical data. They also compared different lamp models side by side to pick suitable styles for highway projects and small village road projects separately.

Apart from product discussion, we also talked about packaging, container loading, delivery schedule and after-sales support. They cared a lot about safe packaging for long sea transport and land transit across Africa, to prevent damage during multi-step transportation. Our packaging engineer explained our reinforced carton + wooden pallet packing solution for bulk orders.

Outcome of this visit

After on-site inspection and deep communication, our Niger partners were satisfied with our factory production capacity and product quality. We confirmed sample plan first. They will test our solar lights locally to verify performance under Niger’s climate, before moving forward to bulk order for their municipal lighting projects.

This visit builds solid trust between both teams. LEADRAY keeps developing solar lights tailored for African harsh environments. If you also work on solar lighting projects in hot and dusty regions, welcome to contact us or arrange a factory visit.
