Ask Before You Buy: Six Questions About UFO Solar Garden Lights

Garden and courtyard lighting is the part of a solar project where buyers ask the most practical questions and get the vaguest answers. Here are the six we hear most often, answered with the actual specification of the LEADRAY LR-TYD series.

UFO Solar Garden Light FAQ: 360° Output, Remote Control and 18-24 Hour Nightly Runtime

Q1: What does "360 degree" output really mean in a garden?

Most garden fixtures are directional: light leaves the head in one cone, so the path is lit and the planting bed behind it is not. The LR-TYD uses a UFO-shaped head that emits through 360°, which suits open courtyard layouts, plazas, resort walkways and tree surrounds where people move around the fixture rather than past it. One mounting point covers an area that would otherwise need two or three directional lamps.

Q2: How long does it actually run overnight?

Declared lighting time is 18 to 24 hours per charge, with a two-day rainy-day reserve from the LiFePO4 battery 3.2V 10,000 mAh on the 100W model, 3.2V 15,000 mAh on the 200W model. Charging takes four to six hours of decent daylight. In practice, the 24-hour ceiling is what allows the fixture to carry a dimmed-all-night profile plus a motion-boosted profile without running flat before sunrise.

Q3: Who controls it, and from where?

Three modes work together: light induction for dusk-to-dawn switching, an intelligent remote control for the operator, and a radar mode that lifts output when someone approaches. For a hotel or estate manager, the remote control is the practical part output levels and modes can be adjusted from the ground without touching the pole or re-commissioning the fixture.

Q4: Will it survive the weather at my site?

IP65 as standard, with IP66 available for exposed coastal or high-rainfall locations. The head combines an ABS body with a PC lens, and the operating range covers the temperature swings that damage lesser garden fixtures. Chip lifetime is declared at 50,000 hours; the battery is LiFePO4 rather than a cheaper chemistry, which is where most garden lights actually fail first.

Q5: What are the real specifications?

Q6: Can I put my own brand on it?

Yes and this is where an actual factory matters rather than a trading desk. Logo printing, retail carton design, colour temperature selection and parameter tuning are handled by our own R&D department, so a private-label garden range does not require a mould investment before the first order. Sample units can be built and shipped for evaluation, and OEM/ODM programmes have been running for distributors and landscape contractors in several markets.

Behind the Fixture: The Parts Buyers Never See

Garden lighting is a volume business with a low unit price, which is exactly why the components inside decide the reputation. Every LR-TYD unit is assembled on our own LED line inside a 68,000 m² facility, with the solar panel workshop and LiFePO4 PACK workshop feeding assembly directly.

Units pass raw-material inspection, photoelectric testing, a waterproof check and a full aging cycle before packing, and the technical file is traceable under reference No. LCS2111080754R. With 1,200 units of monthly street light capacity plus dedicated garden light production, a container-sized landscape order is a production plan rather than a promise.
