What Middle East Visitors Ask Us in Our Workshop: A municipal lighting engineering company with solar energy distributor

2026-10-23

They came from Dubai, Riyadh and Cairo and their first question wasn't the price. It was: "Can your light survive a 50°C summer?"

Last month, our LEADRAY workshop hosted several groups of visitors from the Middle East: municipal lighting contractors, solar distributors, and resort project managers. They skipped the small talk and went straight to our sample table checking the housing, opening the battery compartment, even walking out to the solar panel testing area to watch our photoelectric testing process closely.

To be honest, Middle East clients are among the toughest we serve. And that's fair, because we both know their real pain points:

1. Heat is a genuine problem. Summer ground temperatures in the UAE and Saudi Arabia can hit 60°C. Many batteries swell or lose capacity within months under that sun. In the workshop, we opened the battery compartment right in front of them showing our high-temperature-resistant lithium battery packs and smart charge/discharge management that prevent swelling and overcharging. We also demonstrated our high-temperature aging test: every battery batch gets "baked" before it ships.

2. Sand and dust are worse than rain. The Middle East has little rain, but one sandstorm can clog an ordinary light, cutting brightness and cooling. Our housings are fully sealed to IP65 or better, with dust-proof gaskets at every joint, and the solar panels carry an anti-sand coating to reduce dust accumulation. After seeing the samples, our visitors asked our engineers to adjust the lamp angle for their specific windy-sand conditions on the spot.

3. Off-grid areas need lights that work without the grid. For remote highways, farms and border projects, pulling power lines is extremely expensive. Our split and all-in-one solar street lights run fully off-grid, and with large batteries plus multi-stage smart dimming, they can stay lit all night through consecutive cloudy and stormy days. When clients asked "what happens if there's no sun for days?", we pulled out our actual test data and walked them through the endurance curves.

4. Installation has to save labor. Labor is costly in the Middle East and construction windows are short. Our all-in-one solar lights are "open the box, and they light up mount the pole, and they're done." No wiring, no distribution box. One worker can install several poles in half a day.

Distributors loved this because it directly lowers their end-project installation quotes.

In the end, what impressed them most wasn't the spec sheet it was our attitude of treating their problem as the problem. One client took samples back after an exhibition, tested them for three months, then came back specifically to place a bulk order. Because after comparing several factories, only we dared to show the "unflattering" scenarios in our test videos: high heat, sandstorms, consecutive cloudy days.

At LEADRAY, we don't do one-time deals. Before our Middle East guests left, we recorded their project climate, grid conditions and local certification requirements into their client file. Our after-sales team keeps spare parts tailored to Middle East conditions in stock year-round, and our technical group stays online.

Because we know that helping a client solve "how to keep the light truly and stably on in their location" earns more long-term trust than quoting the lowest price.

If you're running solar lighting projects in the Middle East or similar climates, come sit with us in our workshop. Bring your project documents and your toughest questions we'll open a light up and show you, live.
