When a municipal project team from Ecuador reached out to LEADRAY NEW ENERGY, they were stuck with a common headache. Their suburban township road project needed reliable street lighting along a 4.2km rural arterial road. The local area features strong sunlight in dry seasons and heavy continuous rain during wet months, with high ambient temperatures all year round. Previously, they tried cheap imported solar lights from other suppliers, and the outcome was disappointing. Many lamps dimmed quickly after 12 months; batteries degraded rapidly under high heat, and the after-sales support was almost non-existent.
The client’s core requirements were clear. They needed 60W and 80W solar street lights for 8-meter lamp poles. The lights had to maintain stable brightness even during 5-7 consecutive cloudy or rainy days. The whole system should withstand high tropical temperatures, and they expected a dependable manufacturer that could offer long-term warranty and spare parts support. After comparing multiple manufacturers, they chose LEADRAY LRC-L series solar street lights, model LRC-L60W and LRC-L80W.

The LRC-L series all-in-one solar street light integrates high-efficiency monocrystalline solar panel, Grade A LiFePO4 lithium battery, high CRI LED light source and intelligent MPPT controller inside one compact housing. The whole unit is IP66 waterproof and dustproof. For this Ecuador project, our engineering team adjusted the battery capacity and charging algorithm specially to adapt to the local tropical climate, slowing down battery aging under high temperature.
Looking at the real-site effect shown in our test road photos: In daytime, the fixtures look neat and modern along the roadside without messy cables. At night, the lights deliver even, soft and bright illumination covering the full width of the road. No dark zones on the pavement. Drivers and pedestrians can travel safely after sunset. The intelligent controller automatically turns on at dusk and switches off at dawn, and supports adjustable lighting modes to save battery power.
Why did this project work out better than their earlier attempt?
During factory inspection before shipment, the Ecuador client’s technical team visited our factory test road. They checked the daytime appearance and witnessed the night lighting test on-site, just like what you can see in our picture: uniform illumination, no flickering, solid build quality. They were satisfied with the real performance and confirmed the bulk shipment.
After installation on site in Ecuador, the project team sent us field feedback. Local residents commented that the road became much safer at night. The municipal team saved huge cost on grid electricity and complicated cable laying work.

Many Latin American project teams face the same challenge: buying low-cost solar lights only to face early failure. The lesson from this Ecuador case is simple: do not judge solar street lights only by wattage number or price. The real value lies in climate matching, battery thermal protection, reliable quality control and manufacturer after-sales service.
If you have similar road, township or residential lighting projects in South America, Africa or Southeast Asia, share your road width, pole height, local weather data and required backup days. LEADRAY’s engineering team can run lighting simulation and recommend suitable models including our LRC-L60W and LRC-L80W, to deliver a practical and long-lasting solar lighting solution for your project.
