Senegal Partners Visit LEADRAY Factory UFO Solar Garden Lights for Local Community Projects

2026-10-23

Recently, our partner from Senegal flew over to our LEADRAY factory for an on-site visit. He is a local project contractor who takes charge of public lighting for residential communities, parks and village squares across Senegal. The UFO all-in-one solar garden light you see in the pictures is exactly the product he focused on this trip.

During the visit, we walked through our assembly workshop and testing area together.

Our engineer took apart sample units and showed him the internal structure step by step. The customer bent down to check the lamp housing, solar panel surface, LED light source, battery pack and built-in controller carefully. He also took lots of photos and videos, and tested the lighting output right on our workbench.

He shared many real problems he runs into on site in Senegal. These practical pain points are what we spent most of the time discussing.

First of all, hot climate and strong sunshine. Senegal has long hot seasons, with daytime temperatures often climbing above 42°C. His biggest worry was battery ageing. Many cheap solar lights sold locally stop working quickly after several months because the battery cannot stand continuous high heat. He hoped we could offer a battery solution with good high-temperature resistance to guarantee a longer service life.

Second, dust and rainy seasons. The alternating dry dusty season and heavy rainy season put high demands on sealing performance. Sand can easily get inside poor-quality lamps, and heavy rain will cause short circuits if the waterproof structure fails. He needed reliable IP rating to handle both dust and tropical downpours.

Third, simple installation & easy field replacement. Most of his workers are local field teams without deep technical training. The UFO lamp design must be straightforward to mount on poles. If any part breaks, they want to swap it out without complicated tools or professional training. He did not want products that are hard to maintain in remote areas.

Fourth, stable lighting for long night hours. For community parks and village squares, people use these lights until late at night. Sometimes there are 2 to 3 cloudy days in a row during rainy season. He needed the light to keep working steadily, not suddenly go dim or shut off.

We did not just reply with technical parameters. We showed him our upgraded UFO solar garden light built for West African tropical environments. For high-temperature protection: We use high-temperature lithium batteries together with optimized internal heat dissipation channels. The battery box is isolated from the LED light source, so heat will not transfer directly to the cells. This slows down battery degradation greatly under continuous hot weather.

For waterproof and dustproof: We adopted fully sealed integrated housing structure with reliable IP66 protection. All wiring joints are sealed and insulated, which can cope with both dry sandstorms and tropical heavy rain. For easy installation and maintenance: This UFO solar light is designed as an all-in-one unit. It only needs simple fixing onto the lamp pole. Modular inner components make replacement much easier. Local workers can finish installation quickly following our operation guide. For long backup time: We support flexible battery capacity configuration.

We can adjust the battery size according to his requirement to meet 3-5 days of backup lighting on cloudy days.

We also talked about other practical things: pole matching options, packaging for long ocean shipping, marking and user manuals in French, because French is widely used in Senegal. The customer cared a lot about the manual, so local workers can understand installation steps clearly.

On the right side of the picture, you can see the actual installation scene of this UFO solar garden light on his project site. He brought these on-site photos to show us how the lamps look after being installed in parks and residential zones. This helped us tune the product details further to fit his real application environment.

After checking samples and solving all his questions face to face, the customer was satisfied with our solution. We agreed to arrange test samples first. He will install the samples back in Senegal and run a real-world test through hot season and rainy season. Once the performance meets expectations, we will move on to bulk supply for his community lighting projects.

It’s always valuable to talk with clients who come with real site experience.

LEADRAY keeps tuning our solar outdoor lights to match Africa’s special climate and construction conditions. If you also have park, community or village lighting projects, feel free to get in touch with us. You are welcome to schedule a factory tour any time.
