  • How to choose solar light

    Main character for solar light: A. LED: Unit: lm Normally 1W LED=100lm, we use 130lm/W for bright lighting and   save power. You should choose high lumens instead of high watts. More lumens means higher brightness. B. Battery: unit WH, or Volts & AH Li-ion battery: higher energy density & low weight compare with acid. More safety as below testing: Vibration test: Place the full charged battery on the shaking platform, vibrate 30mins as below: Displacement amplitude: X Axis 0.38mm, Y Axis 0.19mm Frequency: X Axis 10 to 30 Hz, Y Axis 30 to 50 Hz Result: no leakage, no air leakage, no explosion, no fire, no influence for performance and appearance. Drop test: Drop the full charged battery from 1m height to 5cm hard wood on the floor, and drop it twice by different side Result: no leakage, no air leakage, no explosion, no fire, no influence for performance and appearance. High-temperature test: Place the full charged battery in the oven, increase the temperature to 135±2oC by the rate of 5±2oC/mins and keep the temperature for 10mins Result: no fire, no explosion Short circuit test: Place the full charged battery into fume cupboard, short out positive and negative pole (total resistor below 50 m?), watch the change of the battery temperature, and finish the test when temperature drop 10oC compare to the peak temperature. Result: no fire, no explosion Over charge test: Full discharge the battery and lay aside for 10mins Full charge the battery and lay aside for 10mins Charge the battery by 1C current and setup the cut-off voltage at 4.8V Result: no fire, no explosion Impact test: Place a ∮15.8mm steel bar at the middle of the battery Free fall a 10Kg hammer from 1m height to the steel bar Result: no fire, no explosion Solar panel:unit: W how to calculate solar power: for example: solar panel 6V 10W formula: A=W/U, A=10W/6V=1.67A, solar panel output is 6V 1.67A What is the efficiency of the solar cell: place 1㎡ solar cell in the sunlight which power is 1000W, the solar cell can produce 170W power, so the efficiency is 170W/1000W=17%. How to choose the solar cell: solar cell have 2 types: mono and poly crystalline, the efficiency is 17% and 16%. When we need more power in specified area, we choose mono crystalline. If we just need the same power in specified area, we choose poly crystalline, because poly is cheaper than mono, and they can produce the same power at same condition.
