This large industrial park lighting project is located on the outskirts of Johannesburg, South Africa, covering a total factory area of nearly 120,000 square meters, including factory production workshops, staff parking lots, perimeter security roads, internal logistics haulage lanes and green pedestrian walkways. The local engineering contractor selected LEADRAY LRC-L series all-in-one integrated solar street lights as the full-set night lighting solution, with a total order quantity of 130 units, adopting mixed specifications of LRC-L40W and LRC-L60W to match different road widths and installation height requirements. The whole project was completed and put into operation within 18 days, perfectly solving the long-standing pain points of high grid electricity cost and complicated cable laying of the industrial park.

In view of the local climate characteristics of South Africa with obvious dry and rainy seasons, frequent heavy thunderstorms and large temperature difference between day and night, we fully matched the configuration of LRC-L series products. The series adopts the new generation M10 monocrystalline silicon solar panels, the single unit power generation area is increased by 20%, which can efficiently absorb sunlight even in weak light environment in cloudy and rainy days. The zero thermal resistance LED modular heat dissipation structure optimizes the heat conduction path, effectively avoiding light attenuation caused by high temperature, and greatly extending the service life of LED light source.
The built-in high safety LiFePO4 lithium iron phosphate battery supports 95% deep discharge rate, with independent IP66 waterproof sealed protection structure, which can stably supply light for 3 to 5 consecutive rainy days, fully adapting to the local long-term rainy weather. The whole lamp shell is made of AL6063-T5 aviation aluminum alloy, with integrated die-casting molding process, strong compression resistance, dust resistance and anti-corrosion performance, which can resist the erosion of sand and dust in dry season and rainwater in rainy season, and there is no hidden danger of short circuit caused by water vapor entering the interior.

In terms of lighting performance, LRC-L40W is installed at a height of 6 meters for narrow pedestrian passages and small parking areas, with an effective illumination area of 120 square meters and average illuminance of 11lux; LRC-L60W is installed at a height of 7 meters for main logistics roads, covering a wide illumination area of 133 square meters, with uniform bat-wing light distribution, no dark zones on the road surface, no glare interference to drivers and walking staff, which greatly improves the safety of night driving and walking in the factory area. The intelligent timing control system realizes automatic light on at dusk and light off at dawn, without manual operation, and automatically adjusts the power saving mode to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
The biggest advantage of adopting integrated solar street lights is the ultra-simple installation process. Unlike traditional grid street lights that need to dig cable trenches, lay power lines and build distribution boxes, the LRC-L integrated design only needs to fix the lamp body on the reserved light pole, without complex wiring construction. The construction team saved nearly 70% of the civil engineering and cable material costs, and the construction cycle was greatly shortened, which helped the industrial park complete the lighting supporting project before the full production of the factory.

After half a year of stable operation, the park management department gave high evaluation of the project. All solar street lights can work normally even under continuous heavy rain weather, with stable brightness without flicker. The whole set of lighting system completely abandons grid power supply, eliminating tens of thousands of rand of monthly electricity expenditure, and the modular split design brings great convenience for later maintenance. When individual components need to be replaced, only the corresponding module needs to be disassembled, without replacing the whole lamp, greatly reducing the later maintenance cost and labor input.
This project has become a typical energy-saving and environmental protection lighting demonstration project of local industrial manufacturing parks. Many surrounding factory investors and engineering contractors came to visit and inspect, and reached preliminary cooperation intention with LEADRAY for subsequent new factory lighting reconstruction projects, fully proving the market recognition and product competitiveness of LRC-L series integrated solar street lights in South Africa and other African regional markets.
